Apple Cider Vinegar - Weight Loss Benefits

 

Don’t you wish there was a magical concoction that you could drink every day that would help you lose weight and become a much healthier person? Would you believe me if I told you that such a thing exists? Well, it does! And it goes by the name of Apple Cider Vinegar or ACV for short.

 

 
 

 

What exactly is Apple Cider Vinegar?

Apple Cider Vinegar is a type of vinegar made from apple must or apple cider. First the apples  are crushed and the liquids of the apple are squeezed out. After the liquid has been gathered, yeast and bacteria are added to start the first fermentation process where the sugars present in the Apple concoction are converted into alcohol. When the first fermentation is complete, a second fermentation takes place, where the liquid is turned into vinegar using an acetobacter. The result is a fluid that has an amber color, a weird sour taste, and a whole butt-load of health benefits! This stuff is literally liquid gold.

 

How to Use?

There are many ways you can ingest Apple Cider Vinegar to get the benefits. You can use it in a salad as a salad dressing or toss it in your marinade mix. My favorite way is to ingest it in liquid form, but you shouldn't be taking ACV shots! The vinegar doesn’t taste great and could burn your throat as it travels down to your stomach. To prevent this, grab a cup and fill it with 8 to 12 ounces of water and then pour 2 tablespoons or 1 ounce of ACV into the mixture. It doesn’t taste great, but it has 0 calories and get’s the job done, which is important to someone like me who drinks it in a fasted state. If you're not concerned about calories and would like it to taste better, you could add lemon juice and honey for a sweeter flavor. Lemon and honey both have added benefits as well, so no harm done!

 

Where to Buy Apple Cider Vinegar?

It's important when purchasing Apple Cider Vinegar that you buy only organic, unfiltered, unprocessed products that contain the "mother" in it. The "mother" is sediment leftover from the meat of the apples after the fermentation process. ACV can be bought at most health oriented markets like Sprouts, Whole Foods, Safeway or Trader Joes (and much more I probably don't know about). ACV will likely be found in the salad dressing aisle in these grocery stores or could be found near the fruits and vegetable sections. ACV is not very expensive and can be bought around $2.99 for generic store versions. A branded version might cost more and the price would depend on the branding name plus if any other substances were added to make it taste better.

While there are many benefits for Apple Cider Vinegar besides Weight loss, this article will solely focus on how ACV can help you burn more fat and boost your metabolism, so that you can shed unwanted pounds and get a healthier and more aesthetic physique.

 

1. Appetite Suppression

Vinegar contains acetic acid. Acetic acid aids in weight loss by giving you a feeling of satiety sooner than you normally would, helping you to eat less.

Apples contain a good amount of pectin, a soluble fiber that helps to lower cholesterol and aids in weight management. Pectin can help to slow down the passage of food from the stomach to the small intestine, increasing the feeling of fullness sooner rather than later. A serving of ACV has the same amount of Pectin as one apple, so ACV helps to cut out the extra calories while still achieving the same effect.
